President’s International Scholarship of Excellence at York University – Canada, 2022
The President’s International Scholarship of Excellence will be awarded to International High School Applicants who are entering their first year of a four-year undergraduate degree program at York University and manifest to a great extent, academic excellence, commitment to academic work, teamwork and team-spirit especially towards extracurricular activities and more importantly, must possess good leadership skills.
What You Must Know?
Applicants are required to have a minimum 80% (A) final admission average in order to be considered for this scholarship. Financial need may also be considered in the selection process. Recipients will represent a variety of regions around the world and will be referred to as ‘President’s International Scholars’. This scholarship will be renewable for an additional three years of full-time study or until degree completion (whichever precedes the other) provided the recipient completes a minimum of 24 credits each Fall/Winter Session with a minimum sessional grade point average of 6.0 If recipient’s immigration status changes at any time while studying at York and they are exempted from paying International fees for any reason, the value of this award will be adjusted to reflect domestic tuition fee values.

- All applicants must possess minimum ‘A’ average or equivalent (York factor 8 or 9) to be considered for this scholarship.
The application form comprises a ‘personal statement’ from applicant (500 words or less), applicant’s financial profile, list of activities and volunteer experiences and two letters of reference one of which must be academic.

This represents the ‘time of year’ when this award is offered. This gives you an idea about when you’ll need to apply for the award. The most common is In-Course (Fall/Winter), indicating that the award happens during the Fall/Winter Season.
AWARD TYPE:
The type of award includes:
Bursaries: They are based on financial need. Therefore, students with financial need are encouraged to apply.
Scholarships: They are based on academic merit. Therefore, students with high academic standing are encouraged to apply.
Awards: They are based on both academic merit and financial need. Hence, students with high academic standing but in financial need are encouraged to apply.
VALUE:
The value of this award is $45, 000 [Forty-Five Thousand Dollars]
NUMBER OF AWARDS & AWARDEES:
The number of these awards offered each year [i.e. 4 years] and the number of awardees is 20.

- This Scholarship is purely an Undergraduate Scholarship.

- The Eligible Fields of Study for this scholarship include: Arts, Media, Performance & Design, Environmental Studies, Education, Glendon, Health, Lassonde School of Engineering, Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, Science or the Schulich School of Business.
