US Congress: Dr. Anthony Fauci Settles scores with two Senators

Death threats, obscene phone calls: Because they keep raising the mood against Anthony Fauci, the scientist has sharply criticized two senators. The virologist described one of the two Republicans as an "idiot".

The well-known US virologist and government advisor Anthony Fauci broke his collar during a questioning in the US Congress. The immunologist - whose microphone was still on after an exchange with Senator Roger Marshall - said of him, "What an idiot, Jesus Christ." The word "moron" used can also be translated as idiot, idiot or idiot.

The reason was the openly hostile questioning of Republican Marshall, who wanted to know from the 81-year-old Fauci as "the highest paid government employee" whether he would disclose his finances and investments. Fauci replied that he had been doing this for more than 30 years: “You are so misinformed. It is extraordinary."

Senator Rogers took to (reacted to this on) Twitter and quipped

Calling me a moron during a Senate hearing may have alleviated the stress of the least trusted bureaucrat in America, but it didn’t take away from the facts. We need the truth Dr. Fauci! pic.twitter.com/GyfdppfNgn

Conservative MPs had repeatedly attacked Fauci in recent months. He is respected in much of US society. For many Corona skeptics, vaccination and mask opponents from the right wing, on the other hand, he has become an enemy.

Death threats against the virologist

During his appearance before Congress, Fauci also fought against Republican Rand Paul. The Senator from Kentucky incited "madmen" against him and his family with his comments on everything, said Fauci.

Paul had initially accused Fauci of being the "leading architect" of the US Corona policy, responsible for the 450,000 or so corona deaths since President Joe Biden took office . Although most of the corona victims were not vaccinated and Fauci repeatedly and emphatically promotes the corona vaccination. "You are attacking me personally here, although you have not the slightest evidence to support any of your allegations," the virologist replied.

Paul's constant allegations against him also made him a target of violence: "Something like that incites the crazy people out there, and I get death threats, my family is molested, my children receive obscene phone calls," said Fauci. He recalled that a California man armed with an assault rifle was arrested on his way to Washington in December who said he wanted to kill the virologist.

To substantiate his allegations, Fauci showed a printout of Paul's website with a photo of the scientist and the slogan “Fires Dr. Fauci «along with an appeal for donations for Paul's election campaign. The Republican was using a "catastrophic epidemic" for his own political gain, criticized the 81-year-old.
