Brief History of Florida International University, USA
Florida International University (FIU) is a public research university with its main campus in Miami-Dade County. Founded in 1965, the school opened its doors to students in 1972. FIU has grown to become the third-largest university in Florida and the fifth-largest in the United States by enrollment. FIU is a constituent part of the State University System of Florida. In 2021, it was ranked #1 in the Florida Board of Governors performance funding, and had over $246 million in research expenditures.
The university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity". FIU has 11 colleges and more than 40 centers, facilities, labs, and institutes that offer more than 200 programs of study. It has an annual budget of over $1.7 billion and an annual economic impact of over $5 billion. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
FIU's intercollegiate sports teams, the FIU Panthers, compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and the Conference USA (C-USA). FIU's varsity sports teams have won five athletic championships and Panther athletes have won various individual NCAA national championships. Kenneth A. Basic Scholarship Information
The Merit-based Presidential Scholarship at FIU, USA is open to qualified first timers in College who happen to be U.S Citizens, permanent residents and international students only. To qualify for academic merit scholarship consideration, students must be admitted to FIU by November 15, 2022 for Early Fall/Fall 2023.
The deadline for this application is 1st of December 2022 (on a Thursday) and all Students from any International country are eligible to make this application. This Scholarship is purely an Undergraduate Scholarship with 100% tuition, fees + books. However, the number of awards here is unspecified.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants MUST BE ENROLLED as high school student progressing normally toward completion of high school and planning to enroll full-time in college following the completion of high school.
All applicants MUST BE CITIZENS of the United States, a U.S. Lawful permanent resident or an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT with intention of receiving the F-1 visa to study in the United States.
All applicants MUST MEET minimum scholarship requirements.
All applicants MUST HAVE A 4.0 CGPA (WEIGHTED)
All applicants MUST HAVE ATTAINED 1370 SAT Score or 30 ACT or Top 5% of a Florida Highschool Graduating Class.
